Hypothyroidism

When the thyroid gland doesn’t produce enough thyroid hormones, this is called hypothyroidism. You usually find out through blood tests that measure levels of thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) and thyroid hormones (T3 and T4). Hashimoto’s thyroiditis is one of the most common forms of hypothyroidism.

Goiter

A goiter is an enlargement of the thyroid gland, which can occur due to iodine deficiency, inflammation, or other underlying thyroid disorders. Goiters are common across the world, but they are more common in some regions than in others. This is most likely due to differences in diet, lifestyle, and access to health care.
